knowledge question developed by investigating different perspectives and
linked to the area of knowledge of Ethics and the way of knowing of
Reason.
Imagination is more important than knowledge?
When we are asked to make an ethical decision we must consider different aspects of our actions and behaviour in order to respect ethical principles.
1. You must believe that what you are saying or doing and be prepared to justify it (conflict of self interest).
2. The interest of someone other than you must be involved (Capitalism).
3. You must act of your own free will.
4. Your actions must be deliberate (The universal law theory)
But how do we answer our question?
Well, there are many ways of knowing, one of them being reason which happens to be the focus of today.
Reason,
allows us to assess the outcomes of our actions, and arrive at an
objective judgement about moral behaviour. This works regardless of any
desires or emotions caught up in a case, and can help to establish a
solid framework for formulating a moral code.
One must believe in what he is saying, It is necessary to believe in the form of knowledge you perceive to be right. one could say that imagination creates his understanding of certain concepts. Someone else could state that knowledge is the basis to his imagination as it allows to apply what he understands to create and elaborate new concepts. the true enigma here is to truly stick by what you believe and have a clear stance in order to make your own ethical decisions based on reason.
Much has been said about "truth". Its hard to imagine that truth is eternal, "A true statement is true, was true, and always will be true" but to whom?
Whats true to you may be false to someone else. If you believe imagination is more important than Knowledge, to someone who thinks otherwise, this may be completely false. Everything is relative, relative to human understanding. there is only so much one can justify, and how can you explain to someone who believes differently that you what is true or what is false, if the statement is relatively true, to both you and the other person.
How can you justify your ethical choice using reason?
1. Through logic: Logic is the basis of our common knowledge/imagination
2. Empirical evidence (a.k.a. human senses): Most of what you perceive everyday, apart from inner thought, is through the use of your senses.
3. Memory: Memory is very fickle but in taking an ethical decision, memory is what hints to you what you know already in order to justify your actions.
Now that you know what to keep in mind when making a decision, how would you justify what you believe. Is Imagination More Important Than Knowledge?

On Science and Uncertainty
How does it connect to what you already know?
We live in error, error is what keeps us moving forward. what is unknown to us is the motivation to discover and renew our technology. Technology is moving fast and it is causing new problems that we would not have if we had not tried to solve them. Science gives us the final answer to what we question for, but not necessarily gives us the method for it. we do not know how the first cell of an embryo, starting from the fusion of an egg and a sperm, sort themselves out with infallible precision into the system of differentiated cells of a baby, but we do know that it works and there is proof for it!
we do not know how normal cells transform into cancer cells, but we know that it happens and exists!
We know things because we discover them, we study them and understand them, but the ultimate secret to life and unanswerable questions, come from the science we built that is ahead of us.
Has it extended your knowledge?
Science has extended my knowledge on everyday situations that i overcome, it has helped me analise laws and what acts upon my intelligence. the acceleration of free fall for example, i know it is an attraction towards earth of 9.81 ms-1. i understand it but i dont know why it happens.it extends my knowledge towards things that exist but dont give me an answer to others.
How does it challenge what you already know?
Science has helped me realise the meaning behind certain things in life. it gave a meaning to physical laws that i would experience but not know what was happening. i took everything for granted. This challanged the way i think. the more questions i have the more answers i will get but without knowing why its like that. this will always challenge my intellect and how i think.

MASAI SPITTING
This isn’t just regular spitting we are talking about. The Masai tribe
(an ethnic African group found in Kenya and Tanzania) have an unusual
way of greeting friends: they spit on one another. Furthermore, when a
new child is born, the Masai men will spit on it and say it is bad believing that if they praise the child they will curse it to a bad
life. When greeting elders, a Masai warrior will spit in his hand
before offering it to be shaken as a sign of respect.
Wedding ceremony in the Masai nation of Kenya is very unusual. First of all on the day of wedding the bride’s head is shaved and lamb fat and oil is applied on her head. In most cultures head shaving of women is not encouraged. It’s a sign of disgrace. In India widows used to shave their heads to decrease their beauty. The second custom is that after her wedding her father spits on her head and breasts. Spitting is again a symbol of disgrace usually but in Ma
sai nation it is thought to bring good luck and fortune. Then she leaves for her new home with her husband and never looks back. The husband doesn’t stay in the house in which she stays for the next two days and then her mother in law shaves her head. This commences the wedding ceremony declaring them man and wife for life.

Is HISTORY a SCIENCE ?
History is the analysis and interpretation of the human
past that enables us to study continuity and change over time.. It is
an act of both investigation and imagination that seeks to explain how
people have changed over time. Historians use all forms of evidence to
examine, interpret, revisit, and reinterpret the past. These include not
just written documents, but also oral communication and objects such as
buildings, artifacts, photographs, and paintings. Historians are
trained in the methods of discovering and evaluating these sources, and
the challenging task of making historical sense out of
them. Nevertheless, historians do not always agree on interpretations of
the past. The debated differences help expand and enhance our
understanding of human development.
History is foretold, Science is stated. On that last note, as we all know, for decades, we have been using the same formulas to calculate and prove theorems '' discovered '' by great scientists, i wouldn't know if science changed or there are different ways of looking at for example, newtons laws. He gave us the guide line and from that point on we have been wearing his formulas to death on our notebooks, because there is no other way we know to reach his conclusions if not to use his own. History on the other hand, can be interpreted in thousands of different ways depending on who is telling the story.
I do believe that there is Science in History.
I do believe that there is History in Science.
But is History a Science? I don't believe so.

MORAL DILEMMA
You are the happiest person because you have an amazing girlfriend, whom you believe is always loyal to you and will never do anything to hurt you with another lover.
One day, you decide to come home from work early to surprise your girlfriend.
You sneak in the front door making no sound whatsoever, and as you ease the door back to shut it, you hear a noise coming from your bedroom.
You freeze.
You take off your work shoes and slowly creep towards the gushing noises from the bedroom, only to see a bulky man having intense sexual intercourse with your girlfriend.
You hear things she has never screamed rushing out of her mouth, and seems to love every single inch of it.
You have a milkshake of feeling running through you veins.
What do you do?
* Do you let her enjoy her ride until she is done? Leave the house, come back at the normal working time and pretend you know nothing. ( If you are thinking from her perspective it would be Hedonism, but from your point of view it would be virtue ethics.)
* Do you leave and smash your car against the bridge? Leave the house furiously, take a fast ride and release your anger by getting hurt. (Kantianism, you feel like its your fault, and taking it upon yourself, you feel like its your duty to end it all.)
* Do you walk in and interrupt, hoping that the bulky naked guy doesn't beat you up? Walk in the sexual act with a lot of noise so they notice you and cause a disaster. ( In this case you would use consequentialism)
* Do you start wondering whether she has other lovers? Is she the neighborhood hoe? (Intuition)
These are likely possibilities of what a normal human being would think of doing (Not speaking for anyone) I can say, that this is a very challenging moral dilemma because, you love your girlfriend so much that you cant let her go, but what you saw, twisted your feelings, therefore, what would you do?

Greg Cravens
When i first saw Cravens's video, i thought to myself... What he is saying is so simple but so genius. Creating ultimatums for the world to follow and treating this as a lottery ticket, makes it easy to understand and practical in the way we can act and think towards this world issue. An assumption has been made, that yes, we are the main cause of global warming, and yes, we are acting towards changing that. If i could control the thought of the world. i would go towards what am sure i know, and not gamble my way for either of the two other extremes. If everyone helps each other, yes, we would spend alot of money, but we are sure that we are safe and that our investments, no matter whether we are right or wrong, will act beneficially towards the well being of future man kind.

Is seeing believing
The argument of if seeing is believing can be greatly debated...
On one side of the argument, people believe that our cognitive senses cannot be relied upon because of the fact that our senses tend to not see what is in actuality, rather, they see what is useful to our perception of our environment. This can be proven by many optical illusions, such as those of Beau Lotto, which make us see that we cannot truly rely on our perception of reality as it is not what it actually is.
On the other hand, some (such as myself) argue that what other choice do we have? We are given with 5 ways of perceiving reality and that is what we base our decisions on. This is the way we have survived for all of evolution...
Looking on to the future, as technology advances, we may slowly and slowly reduce our dependency on our senses as we will be able to use different mediums to make sense of our environment.
